Virgin PTFE sheet (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a soft and formable engineering plastic. It is used for sealings in some of the most harsh environments. Not only does the material perform well across a wide temperature range, but it is also chemical resistant and FDA compliant.
The high temperature range from -200°C to + 260°C, as well as the very good sliding properties, offers hardly any other plastic to this extent, which is why polytetrafluoroethylene is rightly counted among the high-performance plastics. PTFE is inherently UV-resistant and can be used outdoors in adverse weather conditions. In addition, PTFE complies with the very stringent fire protection class UL94 V0 and is therefore considered non-flammable. Another key factor, especially for the chemical industry, is its outstanding resistance to chemicals, so PTFE also defies concentrated acids, alkalis, alcohols, oils or strong solvents.
VR Trade has an extensive stock of PTFE sheets in thicknesses 0.5 up to 10mm. In the production department the sheets can also be processed into a ready to use product, for example, seals and gaskets with a very short delivery time.
